I'll overwhelm 'credible combatant' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I intend to really want to cause him pain. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather criticized former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the novice remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters engaged in the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
